為甚麼不可以呢？我在辦公桌前打量著我的工作清單，我決定將其剪裁一下。一輪取捨之下，結果今天我還有四件事必定要做（不包括寫這篇文）。現在下午七點，我完成了一件，另外兩件因為過了死線，不再需要趕，所以放棄了。還有一件，轉頭會開始。

我每天不斷在為工作清單上的小事們找狂。到最後，就像那些 Atari 打怪獸遊戲一樣，筋疲力竭打晒全部敵人，過版，才發現後面有更多敵人，要在更短的時間內打爆。

如果每天只得一隻怪獸俾我慢慢打，讓我慢慢細味打鬥的過程，你說有多麼的美好？最好還可以自選哪種怪獸上場，讓我只需與心儀的對手對戰！

說句公平話。我現時工作中某些（但只是很少）成份已是有這樣的性質。要做甚麼，是自己定的。幾時要做完，甚至乎幾時算是做完，也是自己定的。感覺又如何？有點像做生意，自己只需向自己交待。沒有死線，也沒有下班時間。驟聽之下像很自由、很有趣。但這樣的生活下，如果不自律，甚麼也不會發生。對於一個慣了被人逼迫的工作奴如我，自主權這回事也要慢慢來習慣。

但這確是人生成就的一個里程碑。很多人要等到退休才有這一日。很多人卻因為慣了做工作奴，退休後的生活卻變得六神無主（甚至憂鬱至自殺！）。我呢，我就希望能幸運地可以用這態度去度我現在的人生（但暫時並未有這麼幸運）。

下面的影片訪問了一個愛汽水（soda）的老頭。他的舖獨孤一味，只賣汽水（但有五百多種！）。這是一個長尾（Long Tail）的活例子。我們可以去研究維持他生存的外在因素：要有一個夠大又夠自由（包括要市場消息夠流通）的市場才可養活這個刁鑽的長尾。但我對他的內在因素更感興趣。你看他對於汽水的熱愛、對於讓別人能嘗到那些特別汽水時感到的歡欣和成就感，你看他如何寓工作於娛樂，你就知道他一定不會失敗。

這老頭找到了自己所愛，然後決定今生只做這件事，並要做到最好。就是這麼簡單。很幸福，但也很自然：如果這是一件自己喜愛的事，那麼很難可以叫自己不要做到最好吧？雖然到最後那步成功與否仍要看天，但又有何事不是？而且，那又如何？只要他曾樂在其中，便也已賺夠了！

這個顯淺的道理的問題關鍵是，如何可以知道「這」就是我「今生只做一件事」的那件事呢？這個問題如揀伴侶一樣，答案是：鬼知！不過未試過就永世都唔會有機會知。

She did start off with some examples about how people like to engage with a small group of people all the time; and with the current technology, we are able to do it better than ever. However, the main point of her final argument is: "Should we be allowed to engaged with our personal life while being in an 'institution' ?"

I know some people might pick on how she thought a bus driver should be OK to carry a cell. But that's not the point.

I mean, personal engagement is part of the physical needs. In order to focus at work and perform, we need the right work/life balance. Of course the actually executions have to be depending on the situation, but the principle is simple: I see that as the same level as letting the staff to the bathroom.

And more importantly, the fact is, according to the statistics (that she has collected, assuming they are unbias), people are naturally doing that anyway. Well, obviously you can tell I am already on her side, coz otherwise I won't post this video at 10:30am in the morning on a weekday. =p

By the way there is an ad by IBM at the end of the video. Quite interesting, but a bit scary.

究竟這真的是一趟認真（但失敗）的新產品示範，還是其實是一個攪笑節目嘗試去模擬微軟產品一貫的風格？要我估，我當然估前者，因為微軟產品落場那刻跌低以致示範者當眾出醜其實是一件平常不過的事：連 Bill Gates 自己也在台上出過藍畫面！而平日大家上台做簡報時更一定有經驗曾將所有電腦軟件冇反應、硬件瓜柴、甚至自己發台瘟的因由都全算到 Windows 品質問題的頭上！

不過，又如何？當不日大家買新電腦，我們何嘗不是又會乖乖地投回那不斷被我們嘲笑的 Windows 的懷抱當中嗎？這也好，要不然那又何來一個大眾都供認可信的藉口去解釋自己交唔出功課呢？（最常見的「理由」：做做下部機 hang / 瓜 / rebooted 左，或 saved 完個 file 唔見左）

TheFunTheory.com 是一個瑞典網站。裡面的團隊做了兩個實驗，各自嘗試對生活上的瑣事作一些不算簡單但不易被察覺的改動，從而使那件平凡的事變得有趣，而結果亦因此鼓勵大家將習慣改變。在第一個例子，將樓梯加上音樂便誘使比平日多六成行人選擇不撘自動電梯。在第二個例子，一個簡單的改動使垃圾桶內多了逾倍垃圾（片中亦見丟不中的人會再試，甚或會拾附近的垃圾去丟）。

當然，「有趣」亦有時限，因為有「新鮮感」這因素。但只要創意不斷，要改變社會上普遍的壞習慣仍是可能的。

This time the main theme is not on education but on social media and newfound communication technologies. I guess it is part of the promotion for the Media Convergence Forum held in late Oct in NYC by The Economist.

To avoid people accusing for its ambiguous source of information, this round they have prepared a list of reference at the end. Although some of them are still unverified sources, at least it is better than to view some exciting numbers and figures but not sure if they are facts or just buffs.

Anyway, it was a pity that most of the data are U.S. based. Nonetheless, I like the visual impact of it, and certainly it forces my mind to freeze and ponder a bit after the 5 minutes video ends.

喜歡這個主旨。著眼點不是去說明「另類」才算是有創意，而是說周遭的環境如何可以提供足夠的空間讓創意呼吸和萌芽。我們往往太易會將一些普世上一般人沒有見慣的東西當作有問題來禁掉。其實這卻是自己有盲障。

人之所以為人，能在地球上眾多生物中立足並佔一席位，憑著的是好奇心、求知慾和創意。從養育我兩個孩子的過程中，我領會到這肯定是人類與生俱來的天賦。但遺憾地當我們愈來愈懂事，愈來愈有經驗，我們便會愈來愈多假設、分類和理論，好處是之後的思維可以更簡約更快速，但壞處是這無疑是等同於在自設框架，去將自己的思想和意識過濾。創意思維就此犧牲了。

現代人要拾回創意，一定要讓自己有空間去思考。但我們的社會多麼的講求效率，而往往創意思維就是因思考的效率而犧牲掉。我自己的創意早已被丟掉。我現在能努力的，就是要拼命去確保我孩子們的創意思維。不過，理論上，這本來並不是太難。如上所說，「好奇心、求知慾和創意本就是人類與生俱來的天賦」。我們的職責很簡單，就是按著自己，要自己不要打擾他們。要參與，就只去用心聆聽，而不是去提供預設的答案（框架），不要去限制他們的思想。只要做到這樣已經是功德無量！理論上，這並不是太難。理論上。
